Our Mission

Our goals

Partnerships

Formalize partnerships and collaborate with local artists, recreational groups, and nonprofits to embed public art, cultural storytelling, and innovative programming into park spaces, trail corridors, recreational venues, and community events.

Green Spaces

Continue development and maintenance of the Bark Park, trail networks, and disc golf course to provide accessible, engaging recreational spaces that promote health, wellness, and social connection. Focus on food production and sustainability through the Mainstreet Farms AGROWhood.

Community

Create stewards of parks, AGROWhood, recreational facilities such as the Bark Park, disc golf course and trail systems. Expand Community Conversations to foster dialogue, strengthen connections, and elevate resident voices across all projects and initiatives.

The Greater Regional Opportunities Trust (GRO Trust) is a nonprofit that empowers residents, partners, and emerging nonprofits to revitalize public parks and green spaces, grow innovative agricultural, recreational, and arts initiatives, and amplify community impact across Morgan County and the greater regional area.

Fresh Identity

Shifting our name from Jacksonville Park Foundation to Greater Regional Opportunities  (GRO) Trust reflects the expanded scope and ambition of our work. The new name better  captures our commitment to serving not only parks but also the broader community  through nonprofit incubation, regional partnerships, and diverse initiatives in agriculture,  arts, recreation, and leadership development. GRO Trust embodies our core values of  collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity, positioning us to more effectively amplify impact,  build trust, and create lasting opportunities throughout Morgan County and the greater  regional area. This evolution ensures our name aligns with our revitalized vision and  mission to grow a stronger, healthier, and more connected community
